So a good friend over at Bright Lights For Dim People  sent this EP to me and I have been playing it nonstop.  Apparently, Emily’s been making great music for a while and was signed to J Records in 1996 and released an album entitled “East Side Story”. This is the first time I’ve heard it but I am so glad I did. This is the first full album I’ve been willing to pay for in a while…I suggest you do the same.  It’s worth the $7 and you can support a beautiful and talented artist who is also currently on tour with Maroon 5 by the way….

It’s obvious she’s a soul singer but influenced by folk and rock as well. The result? The album Seven….check it out, just click on the album cover.

Shalaundra (Shailaun) Manning was raised in the Arlington suburbs of DFW by a single mother of three girls. As a child, Shailaun was constantly made fun of and suffered from low self esteem. Her passion naturally became music, the arts, and entertainment.
Throughout grade school, Shailaun participated in playing the viola, alto saxophone, and piano as well as playing basketball, running cross country, singing in the church and school choir, and was a theatre class student. At age 16, Shalaundra begged her mother to help her pursue a career as a model, actress, and singer. In 2005, her opportunity came and she auditioned and received a scholarship to Barbizon School of Modeling.
In 2006, Shalaundra unofficially renamed herself Shailaun and graduated from high school and Barbizon with both a high school diploma and a certificate for modeling. Months later Shailaun joined a national modeling tour, The Vogue Esquire Models of Chicago. In  2008, her final year on tour, Shailaun was awarded and honored as Vogue Esquire’s model of the year.

Alex Chadwick Releases His Highly Anticipated Mixtape, “IJustWannaRap”

November 14, 2011: Hip Hop isn’t dead, it’s just underground. The long awaited mixtape by Alex Chadwick is a perfect example of what happens when a talented hip hop artist with a passion for music records 18 of the most memorable tracks to ever be released by an independent artist . IJustWannaRap is Chadwick’s first highly publicized recording since his debut as part of the 3rd Brillyance rap group signed under Rawkus Records in 2007 under the “Rawkus 50” campaign.
Alex Chadwick (who goes by his first and middle name) was born in Baton Rouge , Louisiana in 1983 where he grew up on artists like Master P, The Hot Boys, UGK, Eightball & MJG, just to name a few. Although being influenced by this kind of rap, listeners would describe his sound as east coast, underground or backpack. He started rapping at the tender age of 9 when he and his friends rhymed over beats played on drum sets made of buckets. His musical talent is evident in his mastery of his lyrical abilities, the bass guitar and piano.


The group 3rd Brillyance was formed in Germany in 2006 by members Alex Chadwick and Madd Astronoma. The producer/MC duo met through a mutual friend and after low expectations of each others’ music, was blown away on the first listen and instantly knew they needed to work together. This chemistry is part of what made their music so significant. After combining their styles and making music for nearly a year, a competition revealed by Rawkus Records caught 3rd Brillyances’ attention. In February 2007 Rawkus announced the “Rawkus 50” competition where 50 independent rap artists would be chosen to release an album on Rawkus and given the opportunity to take their career from rapping on the corner to being supported by one of Hip Hops most trusted brands. 3rd Brillyance was one of the selected and their debut album “Grass Roots” was released in 2007 and they embarked on an international tour which included stops in Japan and Germany.

Although music is in his heart, Chadwick chose to pursue a career in the U.S Air Force and is currently serving our country in the Middle East. Despite his currently deployment, Alex Chadwick’s solo mixtape project “IJustWannaRap” was released under 3rd Brylliance Music Group on November 4th, 2011. Christian John Talent Management Provides Recording Artists in Detroit With Exceptional Opportunities

Some people are groomed and trained to become the best at what they do, others are born that way. Christian Johnson started his career determined to be the best; the best at professionally managing some of the most talented and creative individuals in the entertainment industry.  Johnson realized what his calling was in high school when two of his best friends decided to start a Rap and Rock infused group called New Hope.

“We had the opportunity to be the opening act for Swift of the group D12 here in Detroit.  We worked extremely hard for a week straight and I took on the role of the group’s manager.  I even purchased equipment to record and on top of that I was working twelve hour days at a plant in Sterling Heights. We put forth a great effort but it ended up not working out in the end.  Either way I was bit by the management bug. I love the behind the scenes of the creative process and making everything come together.”

After high school, Johnson started his professional career as an assistant with the Phillips Donovan Agency based out of Detroit, Michigan. During that time, Johnson successfully assisted in the casting process for both the “13th Sign”, a psychological thriller about the end of the world and “Margarine Wars”, a comedy following an African-American Jewish hippie on his journey from New York City to California. In addition to his casting duties, Johnson also worked as a production coordinator on the “13th Sign” and as an assistant to leads Ellen Muth and Ron G on “Margarine Wars”.  After achieving a high level of success in the film industry, Johnson decided to switch things up a little and began working at Music Capitol Records as a co-manager to an up and coming Detroit artist named Dillon. There Johnson shared management responsibilities with the well known on-air personality “Dr.Darrius” from Detroit’s FM 98 WJLB and also worked closely with Cedric Berry and Nolan Mersier, the owners of the label. Thanks to positive feedback received from his peers in the entertainment industry as well as his solid connections from Detroit to LA including radio DJ’s, songwriters, producers, and entertainment lawyers, Johnson has decided to branch off and start his own talent management venture.

Shai is a model and actress, originally from Detroit, MI. She relocated to DeKalb, Illinois to study stage performance at Northern Illinois University (NIU), in the School of Theatre’s BFA program. After longing for city life again; Shai transferred to Columbia College Chicago. It was there, where fashion started to take on a major role in her life.

Although, primarily based in Detroit and Chicago, Shai works with a diverse group of clients from across the nation with hopes to reach an international audience within the next few years.
